Demian / Climbing Up The Walls

Yesterady night, before falling asleep, I finished reading Demian, by H.Hesse.
"Wenn du mich dann rufst, dann komme ich nicht mehr so grob auf einem Pferd geritten oder mit der Eisenbahn. Du mußt dann in dich hinein hören, dann merkst du, daß ich in dir drinnen bin. "
"If you call me then I won't come crudely, on horseback or by train. You'll have to listen within yourself, then you will notice that I am within you."
I cannot help but thinking about this song by Radiohead.

Do not cry out or hit the alarm
You know we're friends till we die
And either way you turn
I'll be there
Open up your skull
I'll be there
Climbing up the walls

Am I the only one finding a connection between the two? I believe that they are both about the inner voices inside our head, our soul, or how we wish to call it...
And so here I am, stating my intent to follow those voices, wherever they may eventually lead me.
